Review Policy
The editorial board hereby announces that in accordance with the current guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Science, each scholarly article is submitted for anonymous blind review by two independent reviewers before the article is published by Kultura i Historia. All reviewers do not have the same academic affiliation as the author.
Before an article is forwarded for peer review, the editorial board performs the initial evaluation. Criteria that are taken into consideration include compatibility with the aims and scope of the journal, procedural and scientific rigor, substantive content, and the quality of the article’s content in terms of its originality and novelty. Once the manuscript has passed the editorial review, the author receives a notification about the editorial decision along with any suggested revisions. Subsequently, the manuscript is screened for plagiarism (the editorial office cooperates with https://plagiat.pl/). Next, the manuscript is sent to peer reviewers. The author will be continuously updated about the progress of each stage of the process.
Acceptance for publication is determined by the assessment of two peer reviewers. If the reviews are conflicting, then the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer. In this case, the third and decisive review determines whether the article is accepted for publication. The names of reviewers from the last two issues are published by the editors by the end of each year.
Any requests for reprinting are considered on a case-by-case basis and are carried out through an appropriate license agreement. Articles published in Kultura i Historia are available digitally, from the archive on the journal’s website.
Ethical Policy:
Each case of malpractice (such as ghostwriting, guest authorship, plagiarism, or self-plagiarism) is considered by the editors as a sign of academic dishonesty and a violation of the ethical rules of scholarship.
Should such malpractice be discovered, it is reported to relevant authorities, e.g. the author’s supervisor in a given professional organization. The journal documents and publishes all cases of scientific misconduct on its website.
Regarding best practices and publication ethics, the editors of Kultura i Historia follow the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
